| Can Vdex-40 be used to work with SIP providers when the Vdex-40 is located behind a NAT router? | Yes. If the router uses a public dynamic IP address, then you need to configure the use of a STUN server. |
| Is it possible to connect the Vdex-40 to a legacy PBX? | Yes, the Vdex-40 can be connected via its analogue ports. |
| Is it possible to change announcements easily, e.g., for daily news? | Record the new announcements via your phone by dialing the handset recording extensions and follow the prompts. |
| The Vdex-40 hardware has 2 jack plug sockets labeled with "page out" and "music in". What can I do with it? | These sockets are without function. They are reserved for special projects and for customization. |
| There is a RJ45 connector labeled with "WAN". Can I use it? | No, the WAN interface is for future use. |
| Does Vdex-40 provide integrated routing capabilities? | No, since nearly each company network is equipped with a LAN/WAN infrastructure. It is much easier to use the existing network. |
| How many voicemail messages can be stored in the Vdex-40? | The storage capacity for all recorded messages is 300MB, which is in total 45 hours of recording time. |
| Is it possible to see the states of other phones registered at the Vdex-40 on my own phone? | If your phone supports the BLF (busy lamp field) feature according to the standard RFC-4235 your phone will indicate the states (idle, busy, ringing) of the other phones. |
| Is it possible to change settings directly in the Asterisk configuration files? | Yes, but these changes would only be active up to the next Vdex-40 reboot or up to the next save operation at the Web interface (i.e., in practice not useful). |
| Does the Vdex-40 support DDI (Direct Dial In)? | Yes, Vdex supports DDI for SIP trunks, which send the called number information in the request line of the SIP INVITE message. The CLI information is sent by the Vdex in the P-Prefered-Identity field of the SIP INVITE message. |
